Elevating Global Sounds Under Selina Chowdhury’s Leadership

Since its launch in 2022, Warner Music’s OUT OF ORDER label has been at the forefront of championing diverse sounds and artists from emerging markets, including Africa, India, the Middle East, Southeastern Europe, and the Eastern Mediterranean. Supported by Atlantic Records in the US and Parlophone in the UK, the label collaborates with Warner Music’s local affiliates to create a powerful platform for these regions’ rich musical heritage.

OUT OF ORDER has released a series of albums featuring 10 original,

unreleased dance-leaning tracks from both emerging and established artists. Each release is accompanied by artwork from local designers, emphasizing the cultural narrative behind the music. The label also runs a weekly online radio show, showcasing 60-minute DJ mixes inspired by tracks from its albums, available on platforms like Audiomack, SoundCloud, and YouTube

Leading this initiative is Selina Chowdhury,

who serves as the Head of Marketing for Emerging Markets at Warner Music. With a keen focus on international artist development, Chowdhury has been instrumental in elevating the visibility of artists from regions that are often overlooked by the mainstream music industry. She emphasizes the importance of providing these artists with a global platform to share their unique sounds and cultural narratives

Chowdhury's passion for promoting underrepresented music

is evident in her efforts to connect local talent with wider audiences. She stated, "There’s so much unique and inspired international music that often doesn’t have a global platform. OUT OF ORDER is here to introduce fans to sounds they might not otherwise encounter." Under her leadership, the label has already made significant strides in showcasing the vibrant and diverse music that emerges from these regions, with its first album, OOO: AFRO, spotlighting a mix of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and House tracks

As OUT OF ORDER continues to grow,

its future releases are set to further expand its mission of fostering cultural exchange and bringing global sounds to the forefront, including partnerships with Warner Music India anticipated in the coming year. Through this innovative approach, Chowdhury and her team are reshaping the landscape of international music
