a high-voltage anthem
Today, rising multi-genre artist Danny Singh and Colombian producer Lunas! release their latest collaboration, TOXIC—a high-voltage anthem that pulsates with late-night energy. Accompanying the track is a visually captivating music video, bringing the song’s vibrant intensity to life.
A Story of Unbreakable Chaos
The inspiration behind TOXIC stems from a deeply personal experience shared by Lunas! during a late-night studio session. “We were in the studio, and he opened up about his on-and-off toxic relationship, where they couldn’t escape each other but were both unhappy,” Singh recalls. Channeling that emotion, Singh seamlessly translated Lunas!’s feelings into lyrics, crafting a song that perfectly encapsulates the push-and-pull of a tumultuous romance. “I went in the booth and wrote from his perspective, punching in line by line without any pre-written lyrics,” Singh explains, demonstrating his raw and intuitive approach to songwriting.
A Cinematic Experience
Directed by Sabrina Kalimian, the TOXIC music video transports viewers to a neon-drenched New York City nightscape. The duo moves through an underground world filled with anticipation and late-night allure, fully embodying the energy of the track. “Danny and I just hit it off from the jump. We’re both down to try new things and push the bounds,” Lunas! shares. “This song is a special collab because it is a perfect blend of both worlds.”
A Live Experience Like No Other
To celebrate the release, Singh and Lunas! hosted a TOXIC Rave in Brooklyn on Friday night, an event that brought the infectious energy of the track directly to the dancefloor. The performance further cemented Singh’s growing presence in the music industry, following the success of his 2024 mixtape #F3V3RDR3AM, which included tracks like WASSUP, EV0L, and S0L0, collectively amassing over a million views on YouTube.
With TOXIC, Singh continues to carve out his lane as one of the most exciting and versatile artists to watch, blending punk rock and R&B into what he describes as Punk n B. His sound reflects his unique upbringing, drawing influence from his Guyanese heritage and musical roots in the church.
Meet Danny Singh: The Pioneer of Punk n B
Danny Singh’s musical journey began before he turned ten, mastering multiple instruments, including piano, bass, and saxophone. By thirteen, he was already producing music, using it as a tool for self-expression and focus. Raised in Ozone Park, Queens, Singh grew up in a musically inclined household—his mother a lead vocalist, and his father a multi-instrumentalist. As a teenager, he formed a band that won AfroPunk’s Battle of the Bands, proving early on that his talent was undeniable.
Now, Singh is pioneering a new genre he calls Punk n B, blending the rebellious edge of punk rock with the smooth, soulful elements of R&B. Drawing inspiration from legends like André 3000, Sa-Ra, JPEGMAFIA, and Frank Ocean, he pushes the boundaries of traditional soundscapes. His music incorporates augmented sound and virtual reality elements, creating immersive experiences that resonate deeply with audiences.
Lunas!: A Trailblazer in Production
Lunas! is an unstoppable force in music production, blending classical techniques with modern innovations. With over 200 million streams and collaborations with artists such as Kanii, Riovaz, nimstarr, SoFaygo, and Trippie Redd, his influence is undeniable. His ability to merge organic instrumentation with cutting-edge digital soundscapes makes him one of the most forward-thinking producers in the industry today.
His journey began in Colombia, where he experimented with diverse sounds, constantly pushing the boundaries of genre and production. His work embodies an unwavering commitment to creativity, fusing genres, cultures, and emotions into compositions that feel both timeless and futuristic. With TOXIC, Lunas! continues to solidify his place as a pioneer of musical innovation.
The Future of TOXIC
With a powerful collaboration, an electric visual, and an immersive live experience, TOXIC is more than just a song—it’s an entire movement. Singh and Lunas! are setting the stage for a new era of music, blending their distinct influences into a sound that’s as infectious as it is groundbreaking.
