Age-gap romances
are capturing hearts (and #1 spots) around the globe! Lonely Planet, the heartfelt drama centering around the ‘transformational power of travel’ starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth, rose to #1 on the English Films List with 13.7M views, making it the most watched title of the week while romantic thriller Deceitful Love (Italy) set pulses racing as it took the top spot on the Non-English TV List with 8.3M views and hit the Top 10 in 87 countries. Two gripping true-crime titles captured audiences this week.
Anna Kendrick’s chilling directorial debut, Woman of the Hour, claimed the #2 spot (9.9M views) on the English Films List. The critically acclaimed film with a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes stars Kendrick alongside Kathryn Gallagher, Nicolette Robinson, and Autumn Best —who all held their breath upon reading the script for the first time. The film delves into the eerie real-life tale of serial killer Rodney Alcala, hauntingly portrayed by Daniel Zovatto, who infamously appeared—and won—an episode of The Dating Game. Elsewhere, the Menendez brothers' saga continued its hold on viewers. Alejandro Hartmann’s documentary The Menendez Brothers took #4 (6.9M views) on the English Films List.
True stories continued to dominate as
four additional documentaries secured spots across the lists, with three coming from the UK. The jaw-dropping Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare debuted on the English Films List at #3 (7M views) while the investigative Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas entered the English TV List at #9 (2.2M views) and the dark and provocative Season 5 of I AM A KILLER launched at #10 (2M views). Kids and families
were riveted by Jurassic World: Chaos Theory which returned for a second season at #6 (2.9M) on the English TV List, and hit the high notes with the Sing crew to secure #5 (5.9M views) on the English Films List. Families can keep the jam session going while also gearing up for Halloween with the new Sing: Thriller short and many other BOO-tiful suggestions to enjoy this holiday season with Netflix’s collection of “not-so-scary” titles.
