Joins Givenchy as Global Communications Director
Paris — Givenchy has announced the appointment of Benjamin Cercio as its new Global Communications Director, marking another significant leadership change at the esteemed fashion house. Cercio’s role is effective immediately and coincides with the recent appointments of Creative Director Sarah Burton and CEO Alessandro Valenti, signaling a fresh era for the brand.
Cercio brings an impressive resume
including a successful tenure at Louis Vuitton and his recent role at Gucci. Notably, Cercio and Valenti share a professional history, having previously worked together at Louis Vuitton.
According to an internal memo, Cercio’s responsibilities will include overseeing the image, public relations, events, digital strategies, visual merchandising, and heritage departments on a global scale, coordinating closely with regional teams. He will collaborate with Burton and Valenti to enhance Givenchy’s global presence and refine its brand identity.
Cercio steps into the role following the departure of Valérie Leberichel
who recently left Givenchy to become Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Gucci. His leadership will be executed through his brand-building and communication agency, Bencercio, which also provides consulting services to other clients.
Cercio’s career highlights include his time at Louis Vuitton
where he rose to become the International Director of Press, Influencer, and Entertainment Relations. During his tenure, he cultivated a strong network of celebrities, agents, stylists, and publicists, successfully signing high-profile ambassadors such as Emma Stone, Léa Seydoux, Naomi Osaka, and Sophie Turner. He later joined Gucci in November 2022, further enhancing his reputation for securing entertainment endorsements and fostering celebrity relations.
As Givenchy’s newly appointed Creative Director
Sarah Burton prepares to unveil her debut collections at Paris Fashion Week in March, Cercio’s expertise in global communication and brand-building is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the house’s future. Known for her meticulous craftsmanship and innovative designs, Burton’s leadership aligns seamlessly with the brand’s ambitious vision for the coming years.
