Early journey into music
Brooklyn Candida Rodriguez, professionally known as Bktherula, is an American rapper and singer hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Born on August 30, 2002, Bktherula’s early journey into music was largely influenced by her father, a rapper from the group Planet X, who likely helped inspire her interest in hip-hop. She began recording music at a young age, creating her first track at nine on a tape recorder and later sharing her work on SoundCloud starting at age 13, which marked the beginning of her presence in the music world.
Her breakthrough began in 2018 with tracks like "Faygo" and "Left Right,"
which gained traction on SoundCloud. In 2020, her single "Tweakin' Together" became a viral sensation on TikTok, significantly boosting her popularity. That year, she released her album Love Santana, followed by Nirvana later in 2020, establishing her as a fresh voice in hip-hop. Since then, she has been active with releases such as Love Black (2021) and her two-part mixtape series, LVL5 P1 (2023) and LVL5 P2 (2024).
Bktherula has also made waves in live performances,
playing at major festivals like Rolling Loud Miami in August 2022 and Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in Chicago in June 2024. She’s set to go on tour later in 2024, bringing her unique style and energy to audiences nationwide.
