The Academy has announced that Emmy® Award-winning television host and comedian Conan O’Brien
Conan O’Brien will host the 97th Academy Awards® on March 2, 2025. This marks O'Brien’s first time hosting the prestigious event, and the announcement has already generated excitement across the entertainment industry.
O’Brien, known for his quick wit and comedic timing,
is widely regarded as a master of live event television. With over two decades of hosting experience, including his time with Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Conan, O’Brien is poised to bring a fresh, entertaining energy to Hollywood's biggest night.

In addition to his late-night career,
O'Brien has been a prolific writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. He currently hosts the popular podcast Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and recently starred in the travel show Conan O'Brien Must Go. With five Primetime Emmys® and 31 nominations, O'Brien’s career is marked by his distinctive comedic voice, which has made him a beloved figure in the entertainment world.
The 97th Oscars will be held at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, with the official red carpet show airing at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
This year’s Oscars will celebrate not only the winners of 2024’s most impressive films but also O'Brien’s signature humor, bringing viewers an unforgettable night of entertainment.
